Bowl or counter? How do you crack eggs?
I used to be a bowl girl until I read somewhere that cracking eggs on the counter will actually help to avoid getting eggshell in the bowl.
I definitely had to test this counter-is-better theory after I heard it.
The results? It was totally true.
Since I’ve been cracking eggs flat on the counter, I’ve noticed a significant drop in instances of getting shell in the bowl. *happy dance*
The reason why this works so well is because when you crack an egg flat on the counter, it breaks in larger, cleaner pieces so you don’t have those little impossible-to-fish-out pieces of shell.
Just give the egg a firm thump flat on the counter. Be just slightly gentle, no need to accidentally egg your own house by using too much force and smashing the egg. If you tap the egg too lightly the first time, just tap it again until you’re able to open the egg.
The counter method is, of course, not 100% foolproof but it’s been such an improvement I had to share.
Here’s to no longer fishing eggshells out of the bowl!
